that is dedicated to providing exceptional service and instruction to its clients. We pride ourselves in producing
top level hunters and jumpers from the highest quality bloodlines. Training and care is personalized to build the
best relationship possible between horse, rider, and trainer.
Westwood Farms is a 30-acre farm located in Savannah, Georgia. The farm was founded by Leesa Barelli's
grandparents, Patrick and Suzanne Barelli, and moved to its current location in 1982. The Savannah farm
started as a small three-horse barn on 5 acres and quickly grew to the current size in 1987 when Pat and Suzie
purchased the rest of the land from a farmer nearby. The farm was taken over by Leesa in 2015 and she built a
top facility with a 20-stall barn, riding arenas and turnouts.
The stable is a state-of-the-art facility with the following amenities:
20 12x12 rubber-matted stalls
Keypad entry at front gate
180x80 indoor arena
225x160 outdoor arena
Automatic fly system
Run-ins in all paddocks
All grass paddocks and attached dry lots
Two tack rooms for lessons and boarders
Two bathrooms and a shower
Full service care option
Here at Westwood, we pride ourselves in producing high quality warmbloods from premium bloodlines who love
their job and do it well. We are primarily focused on hunter/jumpers. We make a point to provide a small barn
atmosphere at a high class facility.
Meet the Staff
Leesa is the head trainer at Westwood Farms. She is dedicated to producing horses and riders who excel in
the Hunter, Equitation, and Jumper rings at local, national, and international levels. Leesa began her career
in the Hunter and Equitation rings. Leesa was a double gold medalist in both the team and individual NAYRC,
which launched her into her career as a professional trainer and rider. In her late teens and early 20s she bloomed
in the show jumping scene, winning multiple 1.35, 1.45, and Grand Prix titles. At the age of 26 she announced
her professional status and started training out of Edgebrook Farms in Kentucky. She became a certified trainer
with the USHJA soon after. Leesa has started numerous young horses and brought them through the levels. She
finds gratification when her horses go on to be successful in all three rings with their owners. Leesa took
command of Westwood in 2015 after her grandparents officially retired from training.
Hunter O'DareHunter is the resident working student at Westwood Farms. She is a 20-year-old looking to make it big in the
hunter/jumper world. She has been riding since she was 10 years old and moved to Georgia in 2014 to work
on the Westwood team before Leesa took over. Hunter has a natural connection with horses and it shows in her
riding and dedication to providing the utmost of care for our horses. She currently shows in the 3'-3'3" hunters
and jumpersand is working on moving up to the 3'6". Her dream is to win an international hunter derby one day.
